Graduate Certificates

Our graduate certificate programs allow master’s and doctoral students and faculty from across departments to form multi-disciplinary communities around shared research interests and methods through course offerings, workshops and mentoring.

By completing a graduate certificate en route to their master’s and doctoral degrees, students earn a legible professional credential in a complementary research area that broadens their qualifications for academic appointments and opportunities in other employment sectors.

Doctoral students complete certificates during their second and third years of study so that the experience is integrated within their required coursework and qualifying events, informs their proposals for dissertation research, and broadens the composition of their advising committees.
