GSAS Event Guide

T.A.B-Take a Break: The Graduate School of Arts and Sciences’ Take a Break (T.A.B.) events offer graduate students a chance to unwind and recharge. Hosted in partnership with the Contemplative Sciences Center, these gatherings combine the Center’s relaxing and restorative spaces with fun snacks and a hands-on craft activity to help students decompress at the end of the day. T.A.B. provides a welcoming environment to pause, connect with peers, and practice balance amid the demands of graduate life.

Writing Café: The Graduate School of Arts and Sciences will present Writing Cafés biweekly during the Spring 2026 semester. These sessions provide a supportive and productive space for graduate students to strengthen their writing skills, build consistent writing habits, and connect with peers across disciplines. Coffee and snacks will be provided.

Lunch and Learn: Navigating Your First Year (NYFY): Lunch and Learn: Navigating the First Year is a new year-long orientation program from the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences designed to extend the support and resources introduced during the initial orientation. While orientation day provides a broad overview of programs and opportunities across Grounds, these monthly lunch sessions offer a deeper, more interactive look at the many services and initiatives available to graduate students. Each session highlights a specific on grounds program or resource, giving students the chance to ask questions, engage directly with program representatives, and experience a “slice” of what each has to offer—all while enjoying lunch in a relaxed, community-oriented setting.
