All students should review their academic requirements for any outstanding milestones that need to be fulfilled.
Students are also responsible for verifying the accuracy of their current University of Virginia transcripts before degree conferral. Errors identified after graduation cannot be corrected.

All degree requirements (except grades) are expected to be completed by the following deadlines:
Fall - Nov 30th     Spring - Apr 30th     Summer - Jul 31st

 DOCTORAL degrees:

• Upon completion of the dissertation defense, the Final Exam Form must be submitted to the Graduate School as a requirement of the degree. (Form Preview)
• The Survey of Earned Doctorates must be completed in the term (Fall, Spring Summer) in which you are receiving your degree but can be done prior to your defense.
• Doctoral students must upload the final, approved version of the dissertation to the University Library’s digital repository.

EN ROUTE MASTER'S  (to the doctoral degree):

• Do not apply to graduate for the doctoral degree.
• Submit the Degree Request form indicating the program and degree being requested by the following dates: (Form preview)
  •  Fall - Oct 1st     Spring-Feb 1st     Summer - Jul 1st
• ​You will be put in applied to graduate status in SIS by the Graduate School.
• ​The Final Exam Form must be submitted to the Graduate School as a requirement of the degree.
